Russia, Altai State Technical University, campus crew, Gunadarma University
...

The
Opera Campus Crew is powering ahead, with more events in universities around the world! Right before Christmas, the Campus Crew at Gunadarma University in Indonesia hosted an
Opera Mini presentation. The event was attended by 39 students, and both the presentation and Opera Mini received really positive feedback from the crowd. There was also a lot of interest among the audience to join the Campus Crew

. Congratulations to Gunadarma University on a fantastic event!
Also, in the end of November the Opera Campus Crew at Altai State Technical University in the Russian Federation helped organise the semi-final of the International Collegiate Programming Contest for the Association of Computer Machinery (ACM). 50 student teams competed in the event. Opera Software
sponsored the event by providing Opera shirts for members of the technical team and organising committee, and as prizes for the top four winning student teams competing.
The Campus Crew also used it as an opportunity to hang up Opera posters in computer labs, and install Opera on all the computers they could find. Great initiative!
Well done, Campus Crew! Keep up the good work!

community, users, lifehacker, opera
...
According to an article on Lifehacker dated back early in December Opera was listed as one of the most underhyped application of 2008, which was a great year for the Norwegian browser company with many product releases. Worth mentioning is their praise of Opera users (which we all know to be true):
"While our current browser stats show usage numbers that trail behind newcomer Chrome, Opera users are almost religious about their love for the free browser."
There are also other great software products listed which all deserve a spotlight.
You can vote, leave comments and help support Opera on their Web site - get all the juice on Lifehacker.
Kudos starcatcher66 for bringing this article to our attention. Keep 'em coming!

opera 10, browser, web, poll
A Dutch site called "Avencius" is running a poll asking its readers what browser they're looking most forward to in 2009. It's cool to see that more than 80% say that Opera 10 is the browser they're looking most forward to.
Thanks to Chas4 for bringing this browser poll to our attention.
